Bala Vihar registrations will only be accepted via the Online Registration System. Paper applications will no longer be accepted. Please read the following information carefully before registering online. The completed Registration with payment is due by June 25, 2011. Objectives:

Our mission is to provide individuals from any background the wisdom of Vedanta and the practical means for spiritual growth and happiness, enabling them to become positive contributors to society and to promote physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth of our children, imparting to them our ancient eternal wisdom, values and culture.

           

Eligibility:

Every member, with or without children, new or existing, is required to register themselves using the Online Registration System. A child may not be enrolled without his/her parents' enrollment and participation in the Adult Classes. Please note that at least one parent is required to attend the Adult Class while the children are in Bala Vihar. Children CANNOT be left at the Mission without a parent.

           

Grade:

CMWRC follows the Montgomery County Public Schools Age/grade cut off for enrollment into Bala Vihar classes. In order to be eligible, the child should be going into grades Pre-Kindergarten (PKG) through 12 as of September 1, 2011.  PKG students should be at least 3 years as of September 1, 2011. 

           

Admissions:

Chinmaya Mission reserves the final authority to accept or reject admission requests. While determining the admissions, the Admissions Team will take into account several factors e.g., giving preference to children of Bala Vihar teachers, Children with good attendance record, Sevaks with major responsibilities, Members in good standing, major donors, the date of receipt of the check, date of on-line registration, etc. Additional spaces will be filled on a first come first served basis.

           

Correspondence:

Please make sure your e-mail address is correctly entered and inform us if there is an address change. Most communication between CMWRC and its members is done via e-mail and it is imperative that we have your current e-mail address to keep you informed of current and forthcoming activities.

           

Session Timings:

CMWRC offers three identical Bala Vihar sessions. While registering, please provide your first and second choice of session preferences.  All efforts will be made to accommodate your first choice, but you will be given your second choice if your first choice is full. All applications without a second choice will be assigned to another session where seats are available.

           

The following sessions for Adults and Children:

           

                Session I:               Saturday 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Session II:              Sunday   10:00 am - 11:30 am

Session III:             Sunday     1:30 pm -   3:00 pm

           

Registration:

Apply early for better chances. Receipt of the application does not imply that you have been admitted to the session of your choice. Admissions will be confirmed by early August 2011.  The priority date for your application is the date on which the check/Online Payment is received by the Registration Coordinator. In order to maintain your priority date, payments must be made within 15 days of the application date.

 

Arts and Language:

To be enrolled in Arts and Languages classes, child must be registered in Bala Vihar classes. Students must be at least 6 years as of September 1, 2011. Registered adult members can also be enrolled in Arts/Language classes. However, preference is given to children.

Pledge Amount:

The preferred method of payment is by a single check/Credit Card for the whole year. If this is not possible, the adult basic pledge of $360 per year can be paid by monthly automatic bank deduction. The non-refundable Bala Vihar Pledge must be paid by CHECK/CREDIT CARD. If the annual contribution poses financial difficulty, please contact the Registration Team to discuss alternatives.

 Please make the check payable to CMWRC and, if applicable, include bank debit information. Send payment along with application confirmation e-mail and printed invoice to: Attn: Registration, Chinmaya Mission, 46 Norwood Road , Silver Spring MD 20905. The completed Registration with payment is due by June 25, 2011.

a. The family's contact information provided by you, will be used only for internal purposes. If any of them is required to be used in fliers and other external publicity material, we will do so only with your permission.

b. CMWRC will publish from time to time for publicity purposes, group photos of members taken at different events in the Mission, without identifying the members. If we have to identify the members, we will do so only with your prior permission.
